The Proven Ladies of Firebug Farms

Our does are from very diverse lines across the country, in order to gain the specific features we are looking for.  We paid close attention to linage for the correct conformation, milking proof (stars, AR status, production awards), along with the best udders to ensure the genetics were of top quality.  Show wins were nice - but not a requirement.  Our senior does are very dear to us, as they are the foundation of the Firebug Farm - whether they have our herd name or not.  Our does are listed in order of oldest to youngest.  We will take pictures without intervention/stacking, so that you can see their natural structure.

Lily is a beautiful doe that has performed well in the show ring in the past.  Lily was evaluated by Harvey Considine as a first freshener July 2004.   He was so impressed with her, that he wrote 'great possibilities' on her scorecard.  That first freshening Herd Evaluation Service score was 87,87,90,90 (Final 88.35).  She received a number of high scores in the General Appearance sections, including Excellent in breed character, head and front end categories.

Lily is line-bread on Poetry Oaks Kilauea Korqui HES 90-90-90 EX90 x Hayseed Farm's Magic Marigold HES 91-90-90-90 EX 90.35 (dry), as Dayzee is fully sibling to Country Doc.  Since Lily also has Luck of the Draw (Twink's Pixie son) on her sire's lineage so we are eager to see her udder and how she will cross with our lineup!

Declare is a chocolate buckskin, but you can't tell she's buckskin unless you look at her kid pictures.  She was basically empty when we had her LA'd this year as her 6.5 month old doeling had decided to have a snack!

Crossed with PromisedLand Incredible Hunk *S she had the beautiful Peregrine, who won her Junior leg and Best Junior Doe In Show her first time out.  We are very excited about the genetics that Declare brings!

Very Well Attached udder, pictures (and shaving) do not show very well, as the shaving was done weeks ago.  :) Will get better pictures on the milk stand.

The 2010 LA appraiser complimented me on the 'little alpine' doe we had, and how lovely this girl really is. We found out that she doesn't travel well, but we made due as best as possible.  While doing her LA, the gentleman did mention that her teats wing out a bit to the side, however, this was really his only complaint.

She's a dream on the milk stand and has a wonderful udder.   We'll work on teat placement for her future breeding and plan on putting her on test in 2011.

Lacie milks out wonderfully.  Her udder texture is divine, and she milks out to where she feels like an empty leather glove when finished.  We have retained both of her doelings by Pronolagus. If we could get her on a 12 hour milk schedule (we both work) we would see her production increase and her udder fill out even more.  We know we are holding this girl up this year, but are exited about things to come!
